So the EA E3 keynote presentation has come and gone and I don't have much in the way of sports news to report. Star Wars stole the show and the trailer they showed was seriously better than episodes I-III combined. You can check out that trailer at omgRPG.

But the presentation wasn't totally void of sports news, EA Sports president Peter Moore was on stage for the better part of the whole EA segment. He even got some tennis tips from legend Pete Sampras who was in attendance.

Bullet points of interest after the jump.

  • EA Sports MMA: That's right, only a few weeks after THQ's release of UFC 2009 Undisputed, EA Sports is trying its hand at the sport. Could it be good? Possibly. Is it licensed with the UFC, WEC, or any other professional fighting league? No. UFC 2009 FTW.

  • NCAA 10 Team Builder: While the game is not yet out, the new team builder option is available online now at teambuilder.easports.com. You can head there now and get started on building your school so that the day the game releases you're ready to take on the world.

  • Madden 10 Online Franchise: Madden 10 will follow the same course as NCAA 10 and MLB 2K10  in adding a completely online franchise mode that allows you to not only play others online but allow you to manage your team in a virtual league where every franchise is run by another gamer. The best part is it's fully accessible via many different devices including the iPhone! Manage your team on the go, play when you have time to sit down.

  • Fight NIght Round 4: The release date has been moved up a week to June 25. Mark it on your calendar.
