As I stated before in my previous split/second post, Michael Bay would be proud of this game. It's a nonstop ride that keeps you on your toes with action and explosions. While playing I just went with the flow, so when the game says," Press 'A'." and I obliged only to find myself flying off the road with an instant course change, dodging a falling building and it's debris, and all while battling to get into 1st place during all this chaos.
GamePro's Sid Shuman stated on his twitter, "So incredibly epic, like God of War on wheels." And, I share the exact same sentiment. I'll go far as to say that Split/Second was my favorite racer of the show. Sure there were the more simulation style racers like Forza 3, Need for Speed: SHIFT, and Dirt 2, but Split/Second delivered something new and exciting to the racing genre; absolute carnage and destruction. From just that one point, the game was so much more enjoyable than the other racing games. Instead of just trying to be consistent and come in first place, you had to worry about what could happen around the next corner. Sure, Burnout had car to car takedowns, but have you ever taken down another car by having a jumbo jet land on it's hood? I'm really looking forward to this title, and with multiplayer, I have no doubt that races will be intense. The only worry that I have is that there could be a limited amount of raceways, and that could cause some repetition. But, all we can do now is wait until the game releases in 2010.
