In a shocking turn of events that will likely spark debate for the month until the PGA championship, Tiger Woods did NOT make the cut at The Open Tournament at Turnberry. Ironically thought, there will be a TW playing this weekend and that honor will go to 60 year old Tom Watson who shares the clubhouse lead at -5 under through 36 holes. This is the first time Woods has missed a cut in 10 straight Major tournaments. Many will likely blame the knee for this, but it was Tiger spraying of shots on the fairway that kept him from moving on to the weekend (see video below):
At one point he had upwards of 100 people looking for a golf ball he sprayed into the rough, to which not one could find said ball. This is typically not something that happens to professional golfers, but was definitely par for the course this week for Tiger. Ironically, Tiger is not having the same problem in the EA Sports Open, which is playable online. The current leader through all four rounds is Mustardat -70 (210). The character played is likely Woods, which is ironic given his floundering at the Open Championship. If you think you can shoot better than -70 through 4 rounds at Turnberry, get on your TW 10 and select the "Live Tournament" mode for a chance to win prizes, in game cash, EA points and more.
