A little while ago, we showed you the Madden '10 power rankings for the NFC. Now we're back to examine the AFC, winner of last year's Super Bowl and host to some of the most prolific offense in the leage. With dangerous players like LT, Brady, Moss, Big Ben & Marc Sanchez?? That last one was a joke (not quite as big as he will be at the end of the season, but we digress).

The AFC is also home to some of the leagues' best defenses with the Steel Curtain, the Black & Purple and Belicheck's boys. But who is the best in this mighty conference and in its four divisions? Well, it sports the top two teams in the game (New England and Pittsburgh), who have different strengths, but not a lot of weakness (according to Madden).

The Patriots have the league's best offense, and the Steelers the league's best defense. Will it be another AFC team raising the Lombardi trophy in February? Probably, but let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. Let's take a look at the full AFC team rankings:

AFC East - Similar to its sister conference in the NFC the AFC East is the most competitive conference in its division. With all four teams last season "in the hunt" for the playoffs the AFC was a lot more competitive than folks from New England really wanted, especially when division embarrassment Miami ended up taking the division title with Chad "I suck at everything" Pennington. How does the conference stack up this season, check out the video and see:

Rankings for the AFC East:

AFC North - Arguably the second best conference in the AFC (some might even say the best) boasts not one, but two Super Bowl threats. The Steelers and Ravens have both won this decade and both have the squads to compete. The Browns have a QB controversy, and the Bengals are more concerned with Twitter than they are with winning the division. So it looks like another Black & Gold division title, or does it? Check out the video first:

 Rankings for the AFC North:

AFC South - Easily the most competitive conference in the mighty AFC conference. This division is no longer the Colts to cruise through. Given that everyone is a little older and hall of fame receiver Marvin Harrison is no longer there, the team is certainly not what it once was. They are not pushovers though, not with Peyton at the helm and three receivers to throw to. The Titans though are a force with their two headed running combination. These two will likely fight it out for the division, with the loser getting a wild card seat. While the other two teams, the Jaguars and Texans are rebuilding (and not particularly well). Although Maurice Jones-Drew told his Twitterverse that he's drafting himself first (expect him to lose that fantasy league). Here's the video preview:

Rankings for the AFC South:

AFC West - Known as the Bolts conference for the last 5 years or so, the tables were changed by the upstart Broncos. Ofcourse that was a non-Kyle Orton qb'd Broncos. With Shawn Merriman back to solidify the Chargers defense it will be embarrassing for the San Diegons to NOT win the division, however embarrassing is what they're best known for. The Raiders are better, slightly, posting the top CB in the league with Ninamdi Asomugha, however they have many shortfalls as well (see General Manager/Owner). The Chiefs, well let's not talk about them and just watch the preview video:

 Rankings for the AFC West:

Well there you have it, with just about two weeks to go before the beginning of the Madden '10 season, we have all the teams accounted for. Who is your biggest winner? Loser? Off-base? I'm surprised that the Brocons are not better than the Raiders, and that the Ravens are 10 points lower than the Steelers. Fanboys welcome, fire off about your team and if they were rated too low or too high! Here's to football!

manfuck the black and gold ravens division title. ten points is a big difference in rating between steelers and ravens. the gap btween skill of those 2 teams isnt that big. i would of made ravens at least 87 min and might went as far as 90. i mean i know they got give superbowl champs high score but that little bit to big of difference. whoever makes the team ratings should rate a little better but whatever.

Plaxico Antonio Burress born August 12, 1977 in Norfolk, Virginia) is an American Football wide receiver who is currently a Free Agent. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2000 NFL Draft. He played college football at Michigan State. Burress has also played for the New York Giants. He earned a Super Bowl ring with the Giants in Super Bowl XLII. People interested in the fate of Plaxico Buress might hear the news of Plaxico Burress indicted. Indeed, the news of Plaxico Burress indicted might not be surprising, as Plaxico Buress was arrested last year on handgun possession charges after he was involved in an accidental discharge of a firearm. Perhaps next we'll see a headline of Plaxico goes to jail. He stuck a handgun in his sweat pants, and when it slid down he grabbed for it, shooting himself in the thigh. Burress was indicted on two counts of criminal possession, and one of reckless endangerment, all felonies. After seeing Plaxico Burress indicted, perhaps it's worth some cash advances for people to learn basic firearm safety.

I completely agree that the Ravens can't possibly be 10 points worse than the Steelers. But what about the Patriots only being ONE POINT better than the Steelers? Granted they did win the super bowl, but I can't imagine they are even remotely a match for the high powered Patriots offense.

Not only that, but the NFC doesn't even have a team in the 90's. Does this mean that AFC is vastly superior? Lots of questions to be answered for sure, but that likely won't happen until July 2010.
