Hudson Entertainment has announced a $10 price drop for their game, Deca Sports, to prime its fans for Deca Sports 2, coming this fall. The popular Wii party game is now available for $19.99 after being priced $29.99.

“We’re so grateful to the millions of gamers who have enjoyed DECA SPORTS in the past year,” said Dai Kudo, Director of Consumer Products at Hudson Entertainment. “By reducing the price, we are inviting all Wii players to experience the diverse games in DECA SPORTS and get pumped for 10 more exciting games coming soon in DECA SPORTS 2.”

Deca Sports has ten minigames which utilize the Wii’s motion controls including some strange ones like curling and figure skating. The game is one of many minigame-fests on the Wii but unlike most Wii games that tried to recreate the magic of Wii Sports, Deca Sports was able to gain a decent following with its solid controls and varied choice of minigames. GamePro gave the game a 3.5 out of 5 when it first released and the lower price tag might make this game worth checking out for Wii owners who haven’t gotten their motion controlled sports fix from Wii Sports Resort.

Deca Sports 2 has synchronized swimming, interested yet?

We’ll see how the new Deca Sports 2 fares this fall, but it promises to bring some more off the wall sports to the table like dodgeball, and synchronized swimming. Yes, finally you can compete in virtual synchronized swimming. One thing that may be a key draw to this game is that there is online play promised, (but only for dodgeball, hockey, and tennis) unlike the Wii Sports games. Deca Sports might be just different enough from Wii Sports and all the other Wii minigame packages to justify a purchase.
