I’ll be honest, I’m one of the few gamers who have no experience with Wii Fit or any other fitness software for the system. Its just not my genre, though I do consider it a lovely addition.

EA has announced an addition to their successful and more realistic fitness franchise, EA Sports Active™ More Workouts. When this series initially hit, everyone seemed to be talking about their ’30 day challenge’ (especially via Twitter). The most frequent comment regarding the game was, “I’m sore”; something you (probably) won’t receive with Nintendo’s Wii Fit.

In addition to the previous iteration, EA's giving us abdominal, low/upper body, and cardio exercises along with a new tropical presentation, more customization, the all new 6-Week Challenge, and MORE!!!

Hit the jump for a QUICK LOOK

EA Sports Active™ More Workouts is focused on a variety of abdominal exercises (i.e. curl ups, crunches), upper/lower body, and cardio. One of the new features is the new Six-Week Challenge, which allows players to customize their schedule and track their progress (i.e. calories burned, weight). Not only will we be graced with another FINE and fit personal trainer, but we’ll be shaping our body in a new tropic setting for some ‘exotic workouts’.

Features:

  • Six-Week Challenge - A full and personalized body challenge that gives players a customizable weekly schedule along with a FINE and fit trainer to check and maintain calorie, weight and goals.
  • Warm up and Cool down - 8 new exercises that stretch the player’s muscles before and after workouts.
  • Abdominal Exercises
  • Transferable Progress - Profiles and results can be transferred from Personal Trainer to More Workouts
  • Track Your Journey - Players can set goals and track progress (in or outside of the software). Nutrition and fitness tips.
  • Workout Your Way - Customize circuits based on interests and fitness level, duration and intensity options

I’m bound get my hands wet in this genre at some point or another (where's Billy Blank’s Tae Bo Wii?).

Be sure to check back with GamePro Sports on EA Sports Active updates. Catch More Workouts this winter.

NOTE: The balance board is compatible with More Workouts but is in no way required in order to experience full quality.
