THE VERDICT: Dalton felt as though the BIGS 2 is a hardly-mentionable game that was obviously forged for some extra and effortless revenue. If you're looking for a baseball title on the DS, tryout MLB Power Pros 2008.

The BIGS 2 for Nintendo DS is extremely bland. For example, the pause menu looks like it was programmed in the DOS days. To give you a sense of the game's presentation, one (out of 3) of the modes is Home Run Derby, which has only one camera (which hardly moves), a full crowd of fans who don't react to your actions, a voice repeating the phrase 'Home Run' with no other commentary, no distance reading, and no options besides sound and music volume. I understand that gamers just want to hit home runs in a quick fashion, but seriously, its the Home Run Derby, you gotta have presentation. With no difficulty or customization settings, Home Run Derby gets boring after the first crack of the bat.

Still with me? There's more after the jump.

The Pinball mode's formula is essentially, Home Run Derby + breakable stuff + scoring system. Okay, so now all that's left is Exhibition. Here's a couple examples of the AI you'll find in Exhibition mode.

1. The CPU has a man on first. the runner steals but instead of sliding, he simply treats it like he just came from the plate. If the runner is safe, he abruptly stops at the bag. If he's out, he'll run through the bag as if it's first base.

2. CPU has a man on first and second with two outs. There's a line drive hit to the 3rd baseman. Obviously that's the 3rd out. Well, not according to the runners. they'll hustle back to the bag before heading to the dug out.

Pitching is easy, hitting is extremely difficult, and ground balls have a hard time reaching the infield (which causes runners to get undeserving hits). When batting, the balls seems to skip to the plate in half a dozen frames. It seems like every other home run is just barely over the wall, giving you an easy chance to rob it, which gets annoying.

If you're looking for a great portable baseball series, I highly recommend the MLB The Show series for PSP (the best baseball series around, period). I wouldn't recommend BIGS 2 for the DS to anyone.

PROS: I like baseball

CONS: Just about everything.
