We're usually upbeat here at GamePro Sports, but I felt this crash was something many may have heard about on the news but have not actually seen. The following video is nothing to joke about. Mexican driver Carlos Pardo was leading the race in lap 97 today, when he smashed into a concrete wall going about 120 mph after being nudged by a driver behind him. Pardo's car essentially exploded and he was airlifted to a hospital where he died 45 minutes later.

The race ended with the crash and Pardo was declared the winner. Pardo won the series championship in 2004 and had 10 career victories in 74 races. While many may argue that Pardo knew the dangers of racing, I think this is yet another example of how NASCAR has to ignore the notion that fans go to the track to see the crashes and instead take steps to make the sport safer.

It looks like NASCAR Kart Racing for the Nintendo Wii may be the only NASCAR game releasing this year.

According to an ESPN report, sources inside EA Sports claim there will not be a NASCAR '10 title for any of the major consoles and that with EA's NASCAR license expiring in 2010, we may have seen the last NASCAR game by the publishing giant.

Stop! There's a car on fire.

The Daytona 500 recently passed this week and I'm here to give you a breakdown of the day's events.
