That’s right you heard me correctly. Broadcast Integration. For those of you don’t know what that means, allow me explain.

For this year’s version of NCAA Basketball (or known more widely as March Madness) there will be not be just one, but two broadcast teams. Two for the price of one! That’s called a bargain my friends.

Now it’s not like EA skimped out on the trimmings here either. You are getting quality broadcasters in your interactive experience. You don’t just get the turkey, you get stuffing, gravy, and some sweet potato pie to go along with it.

ESPN remains as one of the commentary options that will be frequented by players. For those of you familiar with playing the NCAA Football series, you will recognize the man calling the plays as Brad Nessler, who also provides play by play with the quarterback Kirk Herbstreit, and the Coach Lee Corso. (Yo!) Color commentary is provided by the man, the myth, the mouth, Dick Vitale (It’s awesome baby!) Check out the trailer for the ESPN Presentation below:

Along with ESPN, CBS will be joining the commentary fray with their team of Bill Raftery as the color man, and in this humble viewer’s opinion, the most exciting play by play guy in the business, Gus Johnson. If you haven’t heard of Gus Johnson, shame on you. Look him up, and watch a football or basketball game with him at the helm. He makes watching games involving bad teams completely enthralling with just with his voice, and I think this is a phenomenal addition to this series that will help take it to the next level. Trailer below:

As you can see, both presentations of the respective networks are pretty spot if you follow NCAA Basketball on television. Perhaps this is just the beginning of future sports games having duel commentaries? We’ll see…

Now for a little bit of college sportsmanship. Oregon’s LeGarrette Blount was upset at Boise State’s Byron Hout for taunting after Boise State defeated Oregon 19 to 8. If you haven’t seen how Blout handles his defeat, here it is:

Now I know what you’re thinking: “Man that Hout guy looks like a douche. I mean he has a face that is just begging to be punched. He did go out of the way to taunt Blount after the game, if there was a penalty for unnecessary douchebaggerry, he would get it”

I agree with you on all these counts, but there is a little more to the story than that. You see, number 14 Boise State and number 16 Oregon have a little history so before the game Blout was quoted saying that Boise State’s last victory over the Ducks was a fluke and that they would kill them this game. When you talk trash before a game and then lose quite handily, I believe Hout is entitled to a little post game taunting. It is actually a case of necessary douchebaggery. Of course, Hout has got to realize that when ou get in the face of someone like that after the game, there is always the risk that the guy will lay you out.

More after the jump

So obviously as everyone already knows, UNC won the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship on Monday, but what you don't know is who took the high honors in GamePro Sports' first annual Tournament Bracket Pick'em.

Taking top honors is a gamer who goes by the name of jvh4 on Yahoo fantasy sports. I'm not sure what his GamePro username is but if you read this jvh4 feel free to pat yourself on the back and claim your prize: The prize was the pat on the back as there was really nothing to win in this league except bragging rights. Since GamePro Sports was just in its infancy stage at the beginning of the tournament we didn't have prizes available but we hope to make these leagues worth something starting with the next NFL season.

Check out the final standings and the winning bracket after the jump.

The time has come, the moment everyone has been impatiently waiting for…THE FINAL FOUR. The tournament has played out in relatively standard fashion with two number one seeds, a two seed, and a somewhat unexpected three seed closing out this years tourney.

At 6:00pm Eastern Standard time, the first battle kicks off between the University of Connecticut Huskies and the Michigan State Spartans, followed by the match-up between the University of North Carolina Tarheels and the Villanova Wildcats at 9:00pm Est.  It may not be the most surprising four teams facing off but it will certainly not disappoint. Both games promise to be a knock down, drag out, brawls laden with all-star game calibur player match-ups.

WHO'S YOUR PICK TO WIN IT ALL?

Before you check out the preview does anyone miss Webster this tourney?  Ahem...I mean Stephen Curry.

Ahhhh… to be sixteen. College basketball’s elite are taking a trip down memory lane back to their 16th birthday party; which really isn’t too far back for most of them. Instead of crooked agents dangling keys to their first car in front of them, or debating who they might take to the Junior Prom, they have their minds fixated on something else…a trip to the Final Four.

The field of 65 has been narrowed to 16. Not unlike MTV’s stellar show My Super Sweet 16, the stage is set to be a big event with all the trimmings and has potential to be equally as painful to watch for the losing parties involved. Who will be the drama queen? Will it be Jim Calhoun? Or Eric Devendorf?

Who's on your guest list to dance past this round?

Ah, the sweet smell of defeat is in the air for most folks that entered the NCAA Men’s March madness pool, pity. Now that you have all this free time, you need something to do with it and TheNate has just the things for you to do:

Hello All!

I'm really excited to join the GP Sports team at quite possibly the best time of the year! After day 1 of action, I have been monitoring Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, etc as well as my office and I've noticed gross violations of proper March Madness etiquette.
Now you might be asking yourself, “TheNate, I didn’t know there was such a thing!” Well fear not, I am here to enlighten you on how to win your bracket and keep your teeth intact. Just keep in mind that many of these transcend March Madness and should also be considered when playing NCAA March Madness year round:

Hey everyone, first let me just officially welcome you to the new GamePro Sports blog. We've been up and running for about a month now but readers are still just discovering that we exist and I've never really issued a grand opening welcome, so this will serve as mine.

Before we started GamePro Sports I saw an opportunity for a site within the GamePro network that could not only deliver great news and commentary on video games and live sporting events, but could provide the readers with interactive contests. Our mission is to turn the passive reader into an active participant through online fantasy leagues, live blogs and Xbox Live tournaments.

I can't think of a better way to kick start this new iniative than by hosting an NCAA Tournament bracket pick'em, and with the madness set to start after this Sunday, time is running out on getting involved.

It is that time of year again…you know, that month where sleepless nights become commonplace, where chants in unison seem to echo through your mind everywhere you go, you check your blood pressure for fear of an unexpected heart attack might occur at any moment. We’re not talking about acid flashbacks here, but watch out for those; that stuff just chills in your spinal cord waiting to reappear during your cousin’s piano recital.

It’s March Madness! NCAA Men’s College Basketball’s National Championship Tournament for the layperson (a lose and go home playoff style tournament to decide the best team). That description may seem unnecessary but it spells out exactly what’s at stake for the hundreds of athletes that put their hearts, minds, and bodies on the line to take home the National Title and maybe impress a few NBA scouts along the way.

The events that transpired in College Basketball last week further reiterate how this season is more unpredictable than ever. The upsets keep coming and there are no signs that they will stop as we enter the Madness that is March.

Not only is there an almost weekly game of musical chairs at the top of the NCAA rankings but as the days go on new teams start to shine and break their way into the top 25 like a crazed ex-girlfriend busting into your apartment looking for her missing Sarah Barielles CD.

The #1 ranking has been more of a curse than a blessing thus far, leaving most teams in a balancing act teetering atop the country.
